Hi Peta, very observant of you, but as the designer of those little saluting Sailors, what I could suggest is, to talk your Dad into upgrading to (high speed) broadband... It speeds them up considerably...! :thumbright:

P.S. Remind your Dad, that despite the fact that you're in uniform, you're supposed to be over 18 to get into the website...! We look forward to properly welcoming you aboard in a few years time... =;

In the meantime, enjoy the Naval Cadets, I hope it leads to a Naval career for you, and we'll keep this to ourselves...!!! We wouldn't want to block the ENTIRE website to Members Only would we...? :-k

Well done Peta
The reason why us Chippies cant perfect the perfect RAN salute and we did not pick up on the shortest way up and down as you did is that we spent so much time trying not to salute.
Some of the examples that we used are
1 We never left the mess (we had to make sure we got our adequate bunk time in)
2 Never go on the upper deck you might have to salute someone
3 Never wear your hat (Cant salute without a hat)
4 Never go into the officers area
5 Try and wear civies as much as possible there is a bonus by wearing civies your always ready to step ashore
Now if ask some of the greenies for more info on reasons not to salute and how to get out of it they have one main one, never give up or leave the gobble up chairs :director2: in the mess

Enjoy your Cadets and that sports car :iroc:

Viv

I tend to agree with ya Viv......

A good Tiffy never paid any attention to anyone saluting or that required

a salute......

Got to admit that i never gave that idiot saluting at the top of the SH site

a second look.

Couldnt even tell you if the bloke is in the right rig or not.

so lucii it appears you take absolutely no notice at all as there are two cartoons saluting on top of the page. Both doing it incorrectly. Thanks Peta for reminding me how to actually salute again. Now where is that chief UC who made life hell if you saluted incorrectly then? Backward saluting classes I say for all on here. [-X #-o =; :-k which one is correct?

Is OK, Peta hasn't actually been on the site herself, our computer is in the lounge room next to the TV so she just saw the screen as she was walking past. She noticed the saluting thing straight away and just had to say something.

Had just heard an old familiar song on the radio, :-k and thought of the ex boyfriend who was associated with it. His name was Neill Coker, and he was in the 1969 intake originally from South Australia. My parents home in Caringbah Sydney became a second home for Neill and many of his mates from Nirimba- Bob Cheeke, Alan Cale , Kevin Wallace were some.

Just wondered where Neill  was now.

Thought this might be a good site to look at first. Must say you have done a wonderful job....credit to you all. If anyone knows him or his contact details, would appreciate being able to say hello to him after all these years. My best girlfriend married one of his mates , Kevin Wallace and they are still happily together. Just they too have lost touch with Neill.

My email address is belford13@optusnet.com.au

Hi Rick,
Just dropped by to say what an excellent job you have done with the web site. I am impressed! Jan gave me your web page ages ago but my computer had a MAJOR virus and had to be formatted - twice within the hour! So I lost all my contacts and had to start again. One day you will have to show me how to back them up. Well done brother. Cheers Trish

Hi guys (Rick, Ned or Seejay),

I am online at home now. :type:

Can you please reinstate my account for me? Seem to be having a problem logging on due to not having been in here for some months now.

Please reset my password, but keep my account name of "bobcat" and let me know when I can get back in.

You can send an email either to bobcat08@bigpond.com or elizabeth.stoffels@defence.gov.au to let me know when this has happened.

Sooner rather than later if possible! [-o< :thumbright:

Cheers,
Bobcat :cat:
