My Dad had an AWE draped over his coffin (in Toowoomba) by the ex pusser guys in the local RSL.
I inquired if they had permission to do so, and the culprit said (In true Pusser's spirit), "What are they going to do? Take away my Birthday??" :yea: :yea: :finga: :finga:

Obtaining a White Ensign is very easy via the internet. I used to think one had to go through official channels, but that is a load of rubbish.

I fly the White Ensign on my flagpole when ever I am having Navy visitors (eh Gordon) :ok: and I have one ready for my funeral. :tear: No permission will be sought to use it, what are they going to do to me, lock me up???

I was real Navy and no transgender loving Naval Officer can take that away from me. :upy: :upy: :upy:

No matter, White "ensigns" or Black "ensigns" on top of you, as long as they're female, hey Viv!
Taking on two at a time would probably kill most of us on this site, as well. :faaaarrk:

It is much sadness that I announce the passing of WO1 Michael Anthony Seats, 212970 ex 5 and 3 RAR. Michael was my wife's father and served almost 20 years in the Australian Army.
Michael had an extraordinary life, which included being sunk in the Atlantic in 1942 as a 13 year old boy, aboard the MV Waiwera. A cargo ship carrying food from Aust and NZ back to the mother country.
Following more time later in the Merchant Navy, Michael jumped ship in Fremantle in 1948 at age 19. He went on to join the Australia Army where he served as a medic, and saw service in Korea, Malaya and Vietnam conflicts.
A complex character and could be gruff and certainly didn't suffer fools gladly.
He married twice. In his later years, his body and mind succumbed to the toll his tumultuous life had on it. He passed last Tuesday and his funeral will be this Tuesday in Fremantle.

Sorry to hear the sad loss to someone so close to you and your wife.

He obviously had a full and exciting life.

Vale Michael :salute1:

Very sad Steve, I hope your wife, you and the family are coping OK. He sounded like a hard but great guy.
