Alan's Vietnam service consisted of an Escort Trip in HMAS Yarra to Vung Tau in Feb 1970.

Knowing Alan well until his early retirement from CSIRO, and occasionally afterwards, he was widely much respected and very well liked. I can attest to his terrific work ethic and skills, his commitment to family life and his all round decency. He made the most of his life for sure, against serious odds sometimes. Sad to hear of his too early passing, but well lived Alan.
