Vale Graham "Roy" Stutterd (check spelling as all pronounced it Studdert)
from the dreaded jack dancer.
MOBI birdie joined July 1968 and changed over to "boxpacker" with the demise of the flat-top and fleet air arm.
Brian Moseley got the word from Steve Whalley in Airley Beach of this sad news.
A really nice guy, even for a birdy.
I remember feeling like a rat with a gold tooth driving around bone-head college in my FB with "fatties" and extractors bought at a bargain from Roy when he got rid of his FC.
Farewell "Roy".

Minister for Veterans' Affairs Mailing List VA082 Sunday 22 August 2004

MARCEL CAUX - WE WILL REMEMBER HIM

The Minister for Veterans' Affairs, Danna Vale, this evening expressed her sorrow at the passing of World War I veteran, Marcel Caux.

Mr Caux, from New South Wales, passed away this afternoon aged 105 years.

"The actions of Mr Caux and his peers helped to define the young nation of Australia. They embodied the Anzac spirit with their courage, determination and integrity," Mrs Vale said.

"At a time of great uncertainty, they stood up to fight for the things that we hold dear, and for that we owe them our gratitude. For that we will remember them.

"It is a sad time as we farewell another fine man who served this nation so well. I extend my sincere condolences to his family at this time," she
said.

Mr Caux enlisted in Sydney in September 1915. He embarked for active service with the 17th Battalion and was taken on strength to the 20th Battalion in France.

During his time with the 20th Battalion, they saw significant action and he was wounded three times, including a gun shot wound to the knee. Twice he returned to his Battalion. On the third occasion, he was evacuated to England where he was convalescing when the armistice was declared.

He was returned home on the Dunluce Castle and discharged at Sydney in November 1920.

It was 81 years after his discharge from the army that Mr Caux attended his first commemorative service on Remembrance Day 2001 at the age of 102. For most of the century, he preferred to remain anonymous.

With the passing of Marcel Caux, only four Australian World War I veterans remain.

Roy was my Hut Vice Captain in First Term. A great guy, who stood up for his sprogs and showed them the "way". Oh Yeah, he also made us duck waddle occassionaly, but a Great Bloke.

Sadly missed by all who knew him.

Far too young! Vale Roy. [-o<

Spelled as it was pronounced Peter - G.D. Studdert

Roy was in my term; nice guy and much too young to pass from this life.

Vale Roy.

Roy was a couple of terms behind me at Nirimba and if my memory serves me well came from Musswellbrook in the Hunter Vvalley
Roy and Graham Norton were real good mates.
Roy was down at Cerberus in the late 1980's

sad to hear of his passing
RIP Roy

From an announcement to The HMAS Brisbane Association Members from Peter Maher...

It is with regret that The HMAS BRISBANE Association advises of the passing of one of our shipmates

O/N 57 Admiral Alan Lee Beaumont, AC, 69, after a long illness.

Admiral Beaumont was Executive Officer on BRISBANE in Vietnam in 1969, where he was promoted to Commander.

He retired from the RAN after serving his country as Chief of the Defence Forces from 17 April, 1993 to 6 July, 1995

There will be a private funeral, but a Memorial Service will be held at Duntroon Chapel at 2PM on Tuesday 28th September, 2004

Vale, Admiral Alan Lee Beaumont [-o<

Vale to fast Eddie. This I copied from Gunplot.

Quote:
notice from Canberra Times

EDMUND HENRY BAUMGARTEN O.A.M. Friends and relatives are invited to attend the funeral service for Ed at the Anzac Memorial Chapel of St Paul, Royal Military College Duntroon on Friday, December 17, commencing at 11am and afterwards to the Woden Cemetery for interment arriving approximately 12.30pm. No flowers by request.

What can I say Eddie was a true Gentlyman among many. I knew him when I was Derwent. I wish I got this news earlier, only got this today. It really saddens me as I only spoke to him only a month ago. He was so young only year younger than myself.

Vale Eddie :tear: A Fair Wind And A Following Sea
