Thanks for your efforts Guys... Clearly only our regular users are going to get around to tidying up their old Personal Messages as requested, and as Seejay has pointed out, we (The Three Amigos of Admin.,) can't access your PMs to delete them ourselves... For those of you who have taken the time to tidy up your PMs, consider how many of the really old ones were still relevent..? The reason I ask is that 'the system default' allows each Member up to 50 PMs in their 'In Box', 50 PMs in their 'Out Box', 50 PMs in their 'Sent Box' and 50 PMs in their 'Saved Box' before automatically deleting the oldest to make way for the newest... Mathmatically, worst case scenario, if every one of our 1,400 Members had their four 'boxes' full to capacity, we could be carrying up to 280,000 PMs in perpetuity... (O.K., I know, that ain't never gonna happen, but jus' sayin' is all...) So after allowing our Regulars a few more days to choose which PMs to keep in their 'Saved Messages' Box, I propose to change the default settings in the Personal Message system to a maximum of TEN PMs in each folder, limiting our maximum exposure to 56,000 PMs...I'm sure that if anybody receives a PM which is important enought to save forever, they will transfer the message to their own computer... This will also mean that if any prolific past posters have full PM boxes, (which we can't access,) it will automatically delete all but the last 10 PMs in each of their four boxes... (that's a max of 40 PMs vs. a max of 200 PMs...)

Rick, Changing the settings to 10 PM's is a terrific idea. When I get home I will go into the Data Base Admin and see how much space we have been able to reduce. Well done to our members for making the effort to save us some dollars.
