All of those denigrating the "no" voters should be asking themselves why wasn't our proposition accepted ? With all the polling that had taken place "blind Freddy " could see it was doomed to failure.

Given some of the people who have been in the position in the past, you could hardly call the position neutral (although I agree it's supposed to be). Mind you, I doubt Whitlam expected what his selection would do. :laughing5:

And if the job was opened to a defence officer of partial aboriginal descent, a person could be killed in the rush of gold/khaki/blue ring club members who have suddenly found dreamtime in their tree. :grin:
