From Frank Ockwell,

“Joe” was a Chippy. He was Commissioning Crew HMAS Vendetta (post Modernisation) May 1973 (G.A.Henstock CPO S1MTH) with Wally Driver CSMTH, Peter Bull S2MTH, and a gaggle of Able types.

Joe was a real gentleman, and always sad news when it’s a “ship-mate”. Joe was January 1963 Mobi Intake.

His Vietnam Service involved a Gun Line tour in HMAS Vendetta from Sep 69 to Apr 70.

RIP "Joe" :salute1:

Whether you knew him or not it is always sad to read/hear of these passings.

I'm pretty sure Joe was on my Q course (memory....), and we partnered up to produce a guide for working with the Commonwealth Department of Works.

A real decent bloke and sad to see he's crossed the bar.

“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal.”

Vale, Joe.

Sad to see another brother cross the bar. Only served with Joe at Nirimba, and did not know him well.

Vale Joe, RIP. Fair winds and following seas.

Wow, that's incredible. I knew nothing about Joe's volunteer contributions, he was a legend. :ok: :notworthy:

Good on you mate, I know the time and effort it takes to be a dedicated volunteer.
