Lousy luck Steve. Hopefully you got a big enough payout to make it through Xmas Ok, and there's a better job awaiting you in the New Year. Good luck buddy; all the best for Xmas.

Thank you all for your kind wishes.

Back now after a moving funeral service, which included a visit from 2 gents from the RSL who read out Mum's Service Record, played the Last Post, and read the Ode, then played Reveille (sp).

Again, thanks for your thoughts.

Saddened to read about the death of former ship and flatmate Iain Douglas Maclean ex ABETS ex Parramatta (75-76)

Died in Perth in last day or two. Death notice in "West Australian".

Iain went on to become a backbencher in Richard Court's WA state government and member for the northern suburbs electorate of Wanneroo.

Vale Mac.

I received ths e-mail today.

Message: Hi

Just a quick message to let you know that ex WOMTP Nev SORRENSON, served HMAS Nirimba several years ago, has passed away after a long illness.

I have e-mailed HMAS Nirimba Assoc to inform them as well. At this stage, I do not know what his family\'s wishes are or the funeral arrangements. I had a brief telephone call from his sister (my mother) last night. I was hoping that some members of RAN Skilled Hands may be in contact with the Assoc or the relevant authorities in the RAN to inform those who knew Nev of his sad passing.

Nev was a mentor to me and he and his family suffered a lot after his accident and his subsequent illness.

May he rest in peace.

Best regards

Stuart HUSBAND

So sorry to hear this.

Nev took over the MEDB and the "steam club" from Tony Hills.
He was a terrific guy it and brings back great memories.
So sad to see him go so early, he will be missed.

Condolences to the family.

Fare winds and smooth seas.

What a shame.

Nev was a great bloke. I remember whenever he was teamed up with Jack Cox, they were invincible.

Nev will be sadly missed.

RIP Nev
