Ian,

Farewell old friend. Thank you for your friendship, your knowledge and your wit. You always made the room happy with your presence. You were and always will be, an integral part of the incredible Nirimba family; you exemplify the true MOBI.

Though you may no longer be with us in body, you will always be with us in spirit because, at the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will always remember you. Lest we forget.

To Chris and your family may we extend our sincerest condolences at this very sad time.

love from
Dicky and Elaine Roebuck

Hi BC,

I copy these comments, please extend my sincere condolences to family.

Chris Lancaster,
next bed in hut 75.

Brian,

Who saw this coming?? – he seemed in good health and good cheer at the Tanunda Reunion…………..

Sorry I’ve been away in Sydney with little access to e-mail.

I will toast his being a term mate and a good guy tomorrow, without fail – he was an ERA, but God can forgive him for that (Shipwrights and AA’s may need some help).

Best Regards,

Neil Walton

BC,

I'll certainly raise a glass to Mac while wishing it was with him.

Trevor Hill

Thanks for the info Brian. Its a sad day but as we all get older it might happen more than we want.

Mac rest in peace.

Pat King

I was looking at my passing out booklet yesterday and noticed that Mac actually passed out with the 23rd intake.
So he must have been a BAAAD BOY at some stage to be back classed and to pasout 6 months later. Didn't do him any harm in the longer term as he still made Warrant Officer!

I seem to remember that being back classed was really looked down on and seen as weakness by members of ones own term but never really created any problems in the longer scheme of things as Mac points out.

I nearly was back classed after I injured myself on the band saw in the chippies shop as I couldn't do to much in the practical workshop area. Didnt happen as I managed to squeeze about 6 weeks jobs into 3 weeks by working Saturday mornings and after normal hours so as to not be back classed.
cheers

If it was thought applicable I could scan the page with the photo of him and post it for all to see. His infectious smile was there even on semi official photos!
cheers again

Peter,

I'd certainly appreciate seeing that photo.

I've got a couple of "unawares" photos of him that don't do him justice.
