Unfortunately Harry Harrington has now advised that Gary Lucev passed away overnight in the St John of God Hospital, Murdoch WA.

I spoke with Harry yesterday afternoon (Harry is still in the same hospital) and he had been to see Gary yesterday morning however Gary was asleep but he was able to speak with Gary's wife Jan and there was much concern over Gary.

Our thoughts are certainly with Jan and the rest of Gary's family.

I had mixed feeling about Lucci, but I would never have wished this on him.

Condolences to his wife and family.

Still sad and gone too soon. - BC

VALE Lucii

I got on well with Lucci, never served with him and don't remember him from Nirimba, but I ran into him at the big reunion in Canberra and the 13th Intake reunion in Busselton.

We are loosing so many MOBI's and so many of them are from terms in the mid to late sixties.

Fair winds and smooth seas Lucci.

I'm surprised you remember 'Lucii' from the Busselton Reunion, Neddley, you and Greg 'Shang' Moffitt seemed totally and blissfully oblivious to 'Lucii's presence...

:-k Like BC said, :laughing3: I too had mixed feelings about Gary, but in better days, before we 'fell out', when I flew over to Perth for our Official/ Inaugural RAN Skilled Hands W.A Xmas Pub Crawl Smokey,
'Lucii' and his wife Jan hosted me at their place for the occasion, which was greatly appreciated... :notworthy: Returning to Gary and Jan's place after the get-together, I recall that Gary was particularly proud
to show off his Winchester lever-action rifle, (which he used 'to keep eagles and hawks away from his budgie aviaries',) and with far too many drinks under the belt, and his black Stetson on my bollard...
................................................................................. ...he was very keen to have me to pose for this  suspect pic... :sniper:

......................................................Image

........................................................... ...which I later realised, bore an unfortunate resemblance to a notorious Belanglo Forest killer by the name of 'Ivan'... :omg1:

..............................................................Image

I had a dig around and came up with a few photos of Gary, :happy3: both of which I believe were supplied by him, taken at the HMAS Nirimba RANATE 50th Anniversary Reunion in Canberra back in 2006...

In this one, :right: the pic was tagged "Tiffy's Top Up", Image (Gary has his arm around Col Kelson...)

............................................... This one was  taken assembling for the monster march of RANATE Ex-Apprentices in Canberra on ANZAC Day, 'Lucii' is under the arrow...

........................................So rest on your oars, Gary 'Lucii' Lucev, you were one of a kind, but your journey is done, Rest in Peace Brother... [-o< Another MOBI taken much too young... [-(
