Listed in the latest Last Post section of The Vietnam Veterans Newsletter is the passing of Colin James RYAN R43141, on the 16th January 2025. On the DVA Nominal List, Colin was listed as an SAC3 for his Gun Line Tour in Vietnam in 70/71. I don't recall ever crossing paths with Colin during our careers, but sad to see another MOBI losing his life so young. My condolences to his family and friends. RIP Colin

I am sure Col was the D/WEEO on the Vampire in '81-83 when I was on her and also D/WEEO at Coonawarra '85 at Shoal Bay when I was there. absolutely the nicest bloke you could ever meet, I was proud to be his friend.
According to his listing on the Greenies web site, he paid of as a LCDR(C).
Gone way to soon, fair winds and a following seas, RIP.

Another response from one of my term mates.
Thanks for that sad news.
Col went SD before I met him and he was my Deputy (LEUT SDENWE) when I was WEEO at HMAS Coonawarra 1985-86. His main role was as the WEEO at Shoal Bay Receiving Station.
Our paths rarely crossed after I posted back to sea from Coonawarra.
I join with you with condolences to his family and friends.
RIP Col.
Yours aye.
David Marsden
