It is with much sadness that we have lost another of the original band of MOBI brothers.
Bob, Rob, or Mate, among the various names that he was often known, passed away at 1800 AEST today, 29 May. Bob's eldest daughter passed the news to Richard Usher just a short while following Bob's passing. I well remember Bob from MOBI days, around the Fleet and I relieved him as OIC Fleet Maintenance Party about the time FMP became FIMA Kuttabul. A better man would be hard to find. Richard and Bronwyn Usher knew another side of the Salters. All were domiciled in Navy married quarters in Ryde - Bob and Barbara were in number 20 whilst Richard and Bronwyn were in 18 and then - through a natural occurrence - Richard became eligible for a 3 bedroom dwelling so, the ushers moved house across the Salter's front lawn to number 22!! And they have remained firm friends ever since.
Sincere condolences to Barbara and the wider Salter family.
RIP Bob, Rob, Mate
