It is my sad duty to pass on the news that David has finally lost his battle with Mesothelioma. Ann contacted Paul Reeve to let him know, and who has asked me to pass this news on to term mates. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, early this afternoon. Our condolences and deepest sympathies to Ann, family and friends. A great bloke who was always in good spirits, right to the end. A MOBI Tiffy and taken way too soon. David’s Vietnam Service consisted of:
1 x Escort Trips to Vung Tau in HMAS Yarra in 1971
RIP David, rest your oars, your watch is done.

Vale David. So sad.
(Does anyone know whether or not he had an older brother in the Navy. I seem to remember a Trigg at Leeuwin in the intake before me.)

The Chapel was packed with family, friends, and ship mates. Eulogies from daughter Melanie, son Christian, granddaughter Holly and long-time friend Jillian, were all very sad, but funny as well and summed up David beautifully …… he would be proud of them. After a head count, there were 15 MOBIs attending, including Triggy, as well as their wives. A poppy ceremony took place to finish the service. L-R Jeff Howell, Greg Fairlie, Rick Summers, Allan Cowell, Neil Walton, George Mock, Trevor Hill, Ken Brown, Paul Reeve, Bob Stanton, Bob Walker, Brian Carney, Colin Byles and Ray Mobbs. David requested that he wanted his coffin draped with a counterpane and cap, along with his pogo stick and wheelie.
