I received this today from Doc Watson.

Received this from Bob McKibbin this morning -

This is to inform your members of the passing of Gary (Blinky) Blinkhorn, ex POQMG on Friday (Evening) 16th February 2007, after a long fight with illness.

His funeral will be held in Townsville this week.

Blinky's funeral is on Thursday, 22nd at 1400 at Woongarra Crematorium Chapel, Townsville.

His wife Cheryl can be reached on 0747732189. Cards can be sent to the family at 10 Berkeley Court, Kirwan, QLD, 4817.

I served with Blinky on a couple of postings at sea as well as Coonawarra. A bloke that loved a beer, a game of darts, and disliked the same officers I did that didn't deserve the respect they felt was their due.

Blinky visited me in 2003 in Townsville Hospital when I was recovering from a bike prang and feeling very down - something for which I will always be grateful. He was crook himself, but tried successfully to lift my spirits.

Vale Blinky. I hope your going will be easier now, mate.
