The Bundaberg Sugar Cane Railway was where Dave spent all his spare time, he first worked on the train INVICTA as a project at NIRIMBA & years later he sighted it at Bundy in a poor state of repair & he promised to return &

rebuild it, well, he did, & he worked on it 'till his health wouldn't allow it anymore.

Deeply sadden to hear of Dave's passing. He was my instructor (Phase One Course) @ Cerberus in the mid 70's. His enthusiasm for Steam was so great that he convinced me to become a Diesel rate.
