A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of the late Lieutenant Commander Ernest James RAN Retd, a past President
of the HMAS SYDNEY (VLSVA) Association and the amalgamated HMAS SYDNEY Association (Inc) as well as being
an Honorary Life Member of both Associations will be held in the Naval Chapel on Garden Island on Tuesday 21 May
2013 commencing at 1100.
He also held, over a period of many years, various Executive positions in both Associations. His work in the Associations
followed a long and diversified career in the Royal Australian Navy, the details of which will appear in the next issue of
Action Stations.
All Members of the Association are invited to attend. Dress coat, collar and tie (women “Day “wear) and full size Honors
and Medals are to be worn.
A very important thing to note is that as the Service is being held on Garden Island, if you are intending to attend you
will need to advise me of the number of persons attending, your name and the make and registration number of the
motor vehicle you will be driving, before Wednesday 15 May 2013. If you intend to use public transport you will still
need to contact me to allow your name to be added to the Main Gate list, important as “no details – no entry” to GI.
