Rick, thanks for the update. Great to see Gordon was farewelled by so many, as well as our intake. Cheers

Thanks PW,

It was a bit embarrassing as Rick turned up wearing exactly the same tie!!! :yea:

Thank you Rick, for your report, you summed it up nicely.

I did take time to talk to Lilli & Nigel, and passed on condolences and apologies from term mates, who weren't able to be at the funeral.

Throughout the service, it was told that Gordon did not like being the "front man". But he was very much a team player and was committed and involved in all aspects of family, church and community. It was heartening to know that he was very well liked and respected in his community.

Vale Gordon

Having just spoken to Lilli this morning, she wishes to thank all the Navy fraternity who attended yesterdays funeral, or passed on messages / condolences to her from numerous sources. Both Lilli and Nigel their son, are very thankful and much appreciative.

Adios Gordoni

This is my first chance to post in Gordon's farewell topic as I have just returned from overseas.

I am glad that his funeral went well but sad that came about.

I served with Gordon at Creswell in the seventies and I remember that he had a love for Beagles (dogs) and had a station wagon with the dog cages in the back. We had lots of good times together and it is so sad to lose an old mate.

Rest easy old buddy.

Finally managed to catch up with Gordon's wife, Lilli and son Nigel, for lunch the other day in Sydney. I am happy to report that there both are coping quite well considering the circumstances of his passing. The issues with Comsuper/DFRDB have been happily resolved.
