I'm so sorry to hear this, Spike was a good bloke. Farewell old timer, smooth seas and soft breezes mate.

Was Pete a tall guy with grey/silver wavy hair. I seem to remember him from Stuart in the Mid 70's. Henry S would remember or was it at FMP-W. No, it was on Stuart after the Modernisation before she went to the west.
If it the person I am thinking of, he was a hell of a good Tiffy and a nice guy all round. RIP your service is done

I received the following from 'Connief' this evening, hopefully someone can shed some more light on it so we can acknowledge his passing in the usual manner, with a topic of his own...
(Connie, it should be noted that NS3 was a Kellick rating for Chippies just graduated, newly joining the Fleet, NS2 was the rank of PO.)Hello Hippy Chippy, The following is an e-mail sent to you by connief via your account on "www.ran-skilledhands.org". If this message is spam, contains abusive or other comments you find offensive please contact the webmaster of the board at the following address: Webmasters@ran-skilledhands.orgInclude this full e-mail (particularly the headers). Please note that the reply address to this e-mail has been set to that of connief. Message sent to you follows ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi Rick, Just read a post on FB of the passing POMTH (NS3) JOHN LENTON. Sounds like he would have joined about the mid 60s, as one guy said he was on Supply with him in 73/74. The message was passed on by Max Kent (ex CPOMTH). Cheers Connie

There was a John William Lenton join as a recruit from Adelaide on the 23/08/1969, he appears to have been rated as a OrdME in November 1969 before being sent to Supply that month. Unfortunately that's where the NAA record ends. He was born 11/12/1946 and may have completed an apprenticeship as a civvie before joining.
