I have just received news that Tarry Rogers of the July 64 intake is very ill with cancer and is not expected to live more then another fortnight. He is at home with wife Anna for his last days. He is a great guy and will sadly missed when he passes. If any one would like to catch up with Tarry his email is buckorogers@bigpond.com.au Anna said she would read him any emails sent through. Another victim of the dreaded waters of Vietnam. |

I knew Pete well ,we were both boiler/maker welders and severed in the Brisbane together. He is a top bloke and I for one am totally blown away by the news.My thoughts go to him and his wife Anna and their children. Is this another case of being in contact with the sea water off Vietnam causing CANCER!!! |

Tarry Rogers struck me as a wonderful larger than life genuine Aussie bloke. He was a welcome addition to the January 1965 group. Did he go back a class due to a football injury or something? I think he had an arm in plaster pretty early on. He was an Apprentice Captain and maybe it was he who carried the sword at Passing Out Parade. As it turned out he probably deserved the Governor Generals. He was a good influence on those of us lucky enough to have known him. |
