Roman 'Wacha' Warcaba joined Nirimba in January 1975 as a MT sailor and changed over to ET. Paid off as a WOETP. Wacka passed away on Friday 16 June 2007 after a long 13 month battle with Leukaemia. Wacka was a well known rugby player and the rugby fraternity was very well represented at his funeral service at Duntroon last Thursday. He was buried at Woden Cemetery.

I served with Roman and played a lot of rugby with him,a great person and a very talented rugby player.My condolences go out to his family but I know he will get a run on start with the game they play in heaven.

I was both shocked and saddened to hear of Waccas passing. He was a great 'P'Rate and the one responsible for me becoming an FFG Sailor - a really good career move at the time.
