Received the following from the Brisbane Association this morning:

It is with deep regret that The HMAS BRISBANE Association advises of the passing of a shipmate.

R62693 POETS Ronald (Ron) Tasman SALTER, age just 61.

Ron was part of the Bay City Family, commissioned BRISBANE and went to Vietnam in 1969 onboard her.

His funeral was held yesterday, in his home town of Maryborough, north of Ballarat, in rural Victoria. He had previously lived in Geelong.

May you always have blue skies and gentle breezes shipmate, wherever you may roam.

Peter Maher

Secretary

HMAS BRISBANE Association
