I received this e-mail from Nigel Baird-Orr regarding the passing of Jim Stallard. Jim was a member of the 8th MOBI Intake and will be sadly missed by many of the old and bold that passed through Nirimba, as well as the many mates he made in the fleet.

From Ray Maskell to Fred House

Hey Fred,
Just a note to tell you that Jimmy Stallard passed away yesterday afternoon in Holy Spirit hospital, here in Brisbane. Pincher Martin called to let me know. He had been talking to Jim on the phone about midday so a bit of a shock. He was operated on for a tumour on the pancreas last Tuesday and guess something has gone amiss. I went to see him on Sunday and was ok albeit tired. He certainly was a champion footballer. No other details known at this stage.
Regards Ray.
