I have been advised of the passing of Direct Entry Naval Shipwright Brian Mathew MCLAUCHLAN, R54383 D.O.B. 11/06/1937...

Brian was on Stalwart in 74/75 when we went to Darwin after Cyclone Tracy. He passed away 13 April, 2010.

Rest on your oars Brian... [-o<

I served with Brian on my first sea posting he was a NS2 on Duchess I was a OrdME spent most of time on Duchess as the shipwrights yoeman Brian was great fun to work with along with Blue Asquith NS2 and Ernie Graham CNS

I then served as a ME (D) at Waterhen again as Chippies Yoeman with Brian Being the NS1 again Brian was a great boss
The next time I served with Brian was on Stalwart this time we were both NS1
The last time we served together was at Nirimba I was on the "Q" Cse he was ships company
During the times I served with Brian he was a true gentleman
Im really sad to see he has passed away
Rest your oars buddy there is a place in heaven for you
Viv
