There was a report of the death of Rod Scarman in suspicious circumstances in the Daily Telegraph 27 Dec 2011 in a block of units in Waterloo.

Can anyone confirm if this was Rod Scarman (Birdie) from the July 1968 intake? The age quoted seems right.

If it was Rod from our intake, it would seem he'd fallen on very bad times.

Various reports indicated that his fellow residents knew little about him, he had physical impairments, lived alone and appeared to have little contact with his family. Supposedly he was known to police.

The reports are as always somewhat contradictory; the police are treating his death as suspicious, even though there were no injuries.....oh really, he could have killed himself and then stuffed himself in the cupboard and closed the door??? And supposedly the pool of blood seeping from the cupboard led to his discovery..no injuries???...nosebleed????

Still a lot more to come out about this death; sure hope it wasn't Rod Scarman from our intake.

Bob,

The news report on Channel 10 last night said a homicide investigation had been started.

Dave Williams found an article in News.com which stated his age as 51.....

THE distraught sister of a man savagely beaten to death and then stuffed in a cupboard at an inner Sydney apartment block has made an emotional appeal for witnesses to come forward.
Rodney Scarman's body was found dumped in a communal area of a housing commission unit block in Walker Street, Waterloo, early on Boxing Day.

An autopsy showed the 51-year-old died a violent death, suffering significant injuries to most of his body.

So if that is correct, it's not our Rod Scarman as he would be in his late 50s..... :prayer: :prayer: :supz: :supz:
