Hi Guys, Have just received a number of emails regarding the sudden death of Gordon. This years appears to be ending on a very sour note. Our condolences to Gordon's wife Lilli and family, all very sad indeed. Vale Gordon Hi guys, Received the news from a very distraught wife that Gordon suddenly and unexpectedly passed away yesterday at his home. He was found deceased in his shed when he didn't appear for lunch. An autopsy is expected to be conducted today. When I know further details I will pass them on. KW & NR Rasmus |

Can't believe it. Gordon was one of those funny email senders in our term, but never too many. I always looked forward to his few times weekly humorous slant on lifes happenings. My sincere condolences to his family. Rest on your oars now Gordon. taken too young. |

I'm deeply shocked to hear about Gordon, I served with him in Tarangau, have met his Wife and Son and was on his 'daily mailing list'... ...in fact the last one I received was on that Pickering shot at Shorten article, just yesterday... Whilst Gordon had been a Member of RAN Skilled Hands since Mar 18, 2005, he only posted once, but I know he regularly read the posts, (most recently on Sun Nov 24, 2013 11:03 am) because he occasionally used our funnies from the website in his e-mails, as I in turn, posted most of his jokes. videos, etc., onto the site... A '20 year man', Gordon listed his postings as: Nirimba, Melbourne, Tarangau, Kuttabull (FMP), Sydney, Penguin, Coonawarra, Stalwart (FMU), Creswell, Albatross, Stalwart and Waterhen... A nice bloke, a fellow Chippy, taken far too young, he will be sadly missed... Rest on your oars Gordo, your voyage is done... |

Gordon's passing is sad news indeed. One of the true gentlemen of this world, I have so many good memories of Gordon, the early days at Nirimba with his GTR Torana, his parents place at Bass Hill, his first wedding at Mudgee, reunions, Lily and Gordon were such a loving couple, to all who knew him just an all round nice bloke. Thoughts and prayers for Lily and family, such a sad and unexpected loss. Fair winds old mate.............. |

I've just heard from Dave Trigg of Gordon's passing and was absolutely shocked. I only spoke to him the other day via Skype and he - as always - appeared to be in his usual positive and upbeat mood. It was also a big shock to me because he was one of the chippies I went through Nirimba with. I remember him as a positive bloke who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Always up-beat and very personable. The world is now a much more poorer place for his passing. My deepest condolences to Lilly and son. Kindest regards, Bomber |
