Victor George James MERRYWEATHER, R42701. DOB - 21 Dec 1946. He did his Vietnam service in HMAS Stuart in 67 & 68. I never had the pleasure, but sorry to hear of another MOBI crossing the bar. RIP Vic

Sad to hear. Never served with Vic other than Nirimba, but I recall him as a nice guy. RIP Vic, fair winds and following seas.

Begin forwarded message: From: "Bob Mummery" <bandi@iinet.net.au> Subject: Vale - MOBI Victor (Vic) Merryweather - Jan 63 Entry Date: 2 May 2020 at 15:26:38 AEST To: "Bob Mummery" <bandi@iinet.net.au> It is sad to see that Vic has left us. I last saw Vic in 2006 when I pulled into a caravan park somewhere near Elliston in South Ozz. I had a MOBI sign on the back of my caravan and two guys were closely observing it as I arrived. They sauntered over and questioned me as to what I knew about MOBI. My reply was that if they were asking the question then they too must be MOBIs. Vic Merryweather and his mate Blue Walker, both of the same intake, were camped at the park along with their wives. I had seen neither since I left NIRIMBA in 1963!! We ended up with a nice evening together in the caravan park. Well remembered. Bob Mummery From: allyn70 Sent: Saturday, 2 May 2020 11:55 AM To: Bob Mummery Subject: Vale, Victor (Vic) Merryweather Just received news that Vic Merryweather, Mobi entry Jan'63 passed away peacefully after a long illness today at 12.15pm S.A.time. Family request no phone calls or emails etc to Margaret for at least a week as she as she has been under extreme pressure recently Regards Alan Holland

Vic and wife Margret were serial offenders at our bi-annual term reunions - great company - always good company around the log fires I always remember the first time I met him for ages, at a reunion, and on entering their caravan the seat lid was raised and lo-and-behold there was half of sth Australias 'brewery stock waiting for us. Wot a good bloke. Our next reunion will definitely miss your smile and witty / pithy conversation
regards DJ
