Sadly, I once again announce the passing of a fellow MOBI.

Neil Abraham was originally a Jan 1965 Junior Recruit entry who, after 6 months at HMAS LEEUWIN was selected for training as a Naval Artificer Apprentice and joined MOBILAND in July 1965. He graduated as an Engine Room Artificer and was well regarded in that trade.

Neil Passed away on ANZAC Day this year having suffered some time with emphysema. Funeral details will be advised when known.

Bob Mummery

Neil was an ERA of the Jul 65 Intake.

His Vietnam Service included 2 x trips to Vung Tau in Yarra (70/71), and Torrens (72).

RIP Neil, your watch is done! :salute1:

Knew Abes quite well, same intake at Leeuwin and linked up again at Nirimba. Played a fair bit of footy with him.
Sad to hear of his passing.
RIP old friend.

Sad news! Another taken to soon. Caught up with Abe's while SWMBO and I were in Darwin a few years back. We were doing the tourist thing and came across a public jazz concert in the front garden of government house, sat down with a beverage and started t enjoy the show. About 5 minutes later had a tap on the shoulder and Abe's joined us before he took us on a comprehensive tour through the residence and other areas, where he managed the maintenance activities.

Fond memories of a great day with a great host that came about purely through chance meeting.

Vale Abe's, RIP. Rest on your oars, may you have fair winds and following seas
