Just saw on the Pussers Greenies site that Darryl Laurence Williams had passed the bar on the 18/08/2021. He was a member of the January '62 intake at Nirimba, did the first year and then transferred to general service as a greenie in January '63, eventually reaching the rank & rate of LEMC before paying off. Another Mobi gone, fair winds and seas Darryll RIP. Regards, Boris |

I did not know Darryl (I don't think) just as a number of others who come up in this forum. Nonetheless it always said to hear/read of these sad events. RIP Darryl. |

I'm in the same boat, never had any dealings with Darryl, but still sad to see the passing of another MOBI. RIP Darryl |

As a Member of the notorious 13th MOBI Intake of July '62, (along with Chippy Ned,) I joined RANATE six months after Darryl did, but only have a vague recollection of there being a Williams in the 12th MOBI Intake, albeit we had TWO Williams' in our own mob to contend with, Alex and Rob, along with a Williamson, Pete, my 'Bubble Buddy' and neighbour, who I had lunch with yesterday, and who also couldn't recall Darryl... Nonetheless, as I'm oft reminded, "Once a MOBI, Always a MOBI..." so VALE and farewell Darryl, rest on your oars, Matey, your journey's done, yet another MOBI taken too young...! |

He was known as "Daisy" Williams, at Nirimba, I remember he came into Hut 74 on a bit of shit stirring raid, had a confrontation with Tony Mcrae and came off second best. After going to General Service, I think he did make Chief "Geenie" before paying off. |

I think I recall him now, Geordie, 'Daisy' certainly rings a bell, had a 'flushed', red-faced look if I remember, yes...? |
