OMG, :omg1: so sad to learn that Dave has passed away and so suddenly... #-o My thoughts go out to Denyse and family at this impossibly difficult time...

Dave was one of our backbone crew on the restored MOBI Yacht 'Nirimba', an avid, regular participant over the 20 year life of our Annual RAN Skilled Hands Sydney Rocks Xmas Pub Crawl Smokeys, and someone
I considered both a friend and confidant...

:prayer: R.I.P. Dave, you've been taken far too soon... :notworthy:

"Reduced in numbers, but not lacking in enthusiasm, our 10 intrepid 2022 RAN Skilled Hands Sydney Rocks Xmas Pub Crawlers :3some: :3some: :hello2: :3some: pose for the traditional Harbour View pub group pic..."

Left to Right: 'Yours Truly', Moi, :hi: Charlie Staples, 'Bill', (friend of Mobes,) Dave Maxwell, Henry Schubert, Dave Warren, Wal Midgley, Mark (Mobes) Mobley, Col Kelson (seated,) and Brian Mackenzie...

On our first outing for sponsor Australian Business Limited Apprenticeship Centres in our sponsor's livery aboard The MOBI Yacht 'Nirimba', l-r, Dave Warren, Ralph Hannaford, Brian 'Charlie' Staples and me...

Dave was a Chief and I a PO on the "Duck" in the mid 70's. I didn't have any direct relationship with Dave, but he was a pleasant enough bloke and fair to all.

Dave's Vietnam Service consisted of:

1 x Escort Trip to Vung Tau in HMAS Stuart in 1967

2 x Escort Trips to Vung Tau in HMAS Swan in 1971

My condolences to David's family and friends.

RIP Dave

Sad news indeed. It seems like it was only yesterday, but it was 9 months ago, that Dave made us aware of his quiet fight with this insidious disease.

Taken far to soon, condolences to his family.
Vale Dave. Fair winds and following seas.
