Hi Bob,

I have been advised of the passing of ex MOBI Greg YOGI Neasbey.

Would you kindly pass this out to your many MOBI members.

I am unsure of his official number but he was in the 19th entry term of July 1965.

I believe that he ended up in the Birdie world.

Yogi's funeral service will be held in

The Chapel,
Shoalhaven Memorial Gardens,
Worrigee Road,
Worrigee
Monday 8th December 2025 at 10.00am

He was a frequent and popular member of the Huskisson RSL sub-branch and we will all miss his friendly smile and cheerful banter.

The following is an extract from the Funeral provider that will be arranging his celebration of life.

Vale Yogi, fellow 19th intake member and a decent bloke who could always be relied on. A rough exterior that hid a soft heart, and I'm saddened that your distinctive laugh will no longer be heard.

My sincere condolences to Yogi's family and friends. Fair skies and a following sea old son, with perhaps the sound of a Grumman Tracker in the distance.....

Thanks Brian,

Yogi was a great character, a big personality with a big heart who was much loved in the birdie and wider community.

He was a long time ATA in the Tracker world as well as running the HS 748s and Dakotas. There are so many stories of Yogi over the years, he was a gentle giant, fisherman, family man, always up to something, loved a drink.

I recall Father Kevin Ryan who many will recall as our Catholic chaplain at Nirimba telling the story of meeting Yogi’s mother in Blacktown and her referring to her son Greg, and he was wondering who among the apprentices was this ‘Greg’ until it clicked - everyone called him Yogi.

We will all miss the bear.

RIP Yogi.
funny story
Despite his gruff exterior he was a gentle soul. He was like Geoff Stirling. In that he could put on a freshly washed and ironed shirt, freshly dry cleaned blues uniform,, polished shoes and within 10-15 minutes it would look like he had slept in the rig for a week.
I met him a few times at SS mess at Albatross when i was visiting and staying at Geoffs' place in Nowra
Rest easy Yogi. We have the watch
