Sad news, I never served with Howie, but I knew the name from around the traps.

Howie's Funeral went a OK today, good crowd to give him a send off Approximately 30 to 40 Ex Stokers did the right thing  Did not attend the Wake after the service as I had 500km home trip in front of me

Speaking of Ex-Stokers, my local DVA Advocate, an Ex-Stoker himself, (paying off as a  LEUT after 40 years,) Danny Chouffot, when I mentioned Howard Gilleland, said he knew him quite well, and was saddened to learn of his passing...
