Perhaps the "bang frightens the poor children. This brings to mind many, many mental images. Most from Bugs Bunny, Coyote, and similar eras where guns and bombs have little signs that pop out when triggered (see what I did there).... Of course, you wonder how many claims are put forward for injuries due to little sign impact........

News reports say that the RNZN has six operational vessels. No wonder there's a strong push over there to amalgamate with Australia.

More reports are coming in about the Kiwi dive wreck regarding onboard fire/power failure/grounding.
I guess the timeline of all three will give a more precise reason for the grounding, but it seems more likely that the power loss will be the cause.

They have had the ship since 2019 (with a future life of 15 years) and, possibly, not a problem up to now.
"The modern design and systems of the dive and hydrographic vessel will provide improved capacity, speed, safety, and capability over the previous vessels. Some of these new and enhanced capabilities include a 100t salvage crane, a remotely operated vehicle and a contemporary dynamic positioning system, which will allow Navy’s specialist divers to achieve greater levels of effectiveness and safety, in a greater range of conditions."

Congratulation to the family of Private Richard Norden for being awarded his VC. The ABC news item said that King Charles had finally approved the awarding of his VC. My thoughts are, "why has it taken 56 years?" Even Peter Cosgrove said decades ago, why he was not put forward for a VC, for his brave actions. Obviously, the ARMY is still playing it's bureaucratic games. Private Richard Norden VC, a long time coming!

Yes, well done that man. Richly deserved, but could/should have received it while he was still with us!
