A book entitled "The War Come Home" (covering disabled veterans in Britain and Germany 1914 - 1939) stated that there were nearly 8 million men in Europe who returned from WWI permanently disabled by injury or disease. The book detailed the action by the German Government to fully fund rehabilitation of their members whilst Britains effort was funded through public collections/donations and philanthropists. The outcomes offered in the book (from research) indicated that the latter ended up being the successful process (the fully funded German effort ultimately led to a greater level of dissatisfaction and pushed many into the Hitler camp).

I remember my Dad saying that, when he left school before doing his leaving certificate (age 16 - around the time of the Dunkirk evacuation), he went to work with his Dad. His job was to go around London businesses and collect the donation cans for the Society. When the office was bombed in London the office staff relocated to the Leatherhead factory (Thermega).

Seems that the "Lessons Learnt" from that time have been too easily forgotten. Efforts by veterans from more recent wars to move off the grid and self help appear to follow what was successful in the earlier times. Shame the Government did/does not learn from earlier successes, it would be a first to lead veteran assistance.

Unfortunately Brian, the so-called experts that are called in to design any sort of assistance or treatment are usually psychologists. And psychologists are described within the health practitioners world as semi-trained charlatans who do more harm than good, whose ultimate aim is to become a TV personality and write a book ......... or books. Psychiatrists view them as .... well .... something to be avoided (to put it nicely).

And then of course are the politicians with their complete lack of ethics.............. :angry9:

It's not just the governments who don't learn from history... :tear: :tear: just look at the push by academia and the misguided (or should I say indoctrinated...) youths trying their best to rewrite history... :banghead: :banghead: :brick-wall: :brick-wall: :pull hair: :pull hair: :stupid:

You would have to ask yourself what planet do some people live in , I have seen that one of the most recognisable car brands # Jaguar " is under undergoing a brand change to a modern ?? Logo etc. Notwithstanding the unreliability of some models it would be one of the most iconic brands. I mean to say even the Chinese retained the "MG " logo when they bought the company.

Not withstanding some of the "less than reliable" models, Jaguar has been an iconic brand with an iconic symbol. I think it is great that the symbol of the iconic TRUE Jaguar symbol is no longer going to be sullied by the crap that they are moving towards.

This is from the TV series "Landman" which is on Paramount.

Written by Taylor Sheridon who wrote "Yellowstone".
Apparently he's anti-woke and everything he writes is a hit, because he writes what the majority of the public want to see and hear.
