At the recent Anzac Day march here in Rockingham, there was a contingent marching behind the (usual) lifebuoy and on the aforementioned lifebuoy was Nuship Eyre.

I've just had a phone call from one of my nieces. For the past 10 years, she was a senior lecturer at Western Sydney Uni, until today. She has pulled the pin, thanks to the new demands. The Uni is being relocated down Campbelltown way. Apparently, work hours are being increased 0800 - 1800, 5 days a week.

Many staff are also leaving. and new replacement are not being told of the relocation to Campbelltown.

But what she told me was more disturbing. The Uni is becoming quite disgusting, due to lack of maintenance and looks increasingly run down. She thinks it would be an insult to all the Naval personnel that served there.

There is no word on it's future, except that the TaFE is supposed to continue. Her hunch is, it will become more housing development.
