Apparently the Corporates are now wanting to close the Holbrook Submarine Museum and Park for a car park... It comprises the Upper casing, Fin, and Stern of former HMAS Otway.

The Management of the Museum are now asking people to sign an on-line petition to halt the forecast closure of the Holbrook Submarine Museum and Park.. See Petition and Website Link Below....

Good morning,

Something URGENT has come to hand. Please see below from Curator of the Holbrook Submarine Museum, Morrie Jeppeson. There is an online petition that I hope all will help to keep the Commander Holbrook Memorial Park in place. Some of you may have already seen posts of this on Social Media which I don't subscribe to. As Membership Officer of the 'Friends of Holbrook Submarine Museum', I ask you to consider signing the petition to preserve the Memorial Park for all of those who have served and still serving in the 'Silent Service'.

Commander Holbrook Memorial Park, located adjacent to the Submarine Park, is a cherished community space for the residents of Holbrook NSW. The Greater Hume Council's recent proposal to convert this park from Community Land to Operational Public Land threatens its existence as it paves the way for potential sale. This move not only deprives our community of a recreational area in the center of town but also sets a dangerous precedent for public land management.

Plans to relocate the B11 replica and memorial park gates have triggered the FHSM into action.

The FHSM President Dr Michael White OAM & KC and his retired Qld magistrate wife Margaret are traveling down from Qld especially to discuss the proposal to convert the Holbrook Memorial Park into an IGA car park. They will be joined Rtd Commodore Terry Roach, AM (submariner, ex Capt. of Otway) to assist in putting the case for retaining the memorial park to officials.

The following recent Border Express article provides details. We are hopeful that you might find time to support Michael and his team on or before he arrives in Holbrook on the 19th April by sending a note to Morrie Jeppesen, the HSM Curator and signing his online partition. Morrie Jeppesen

Please sign the Petition and send to your networks. This is something we, as, not only, Members of Submarines Association Australia & 'Friends of Holbrook Museum' but families of those who have served in original 'O'Boats', still serving in 'Collins' class submarines and future AUKUS Nuclear submarines, to preserve our Heritage site in Holbrook!!

Please contact Morrie at hsmcurator@gmail.com

Thank you in advance,
Carol Wilson

Gaddafi said, back in the 70's or 80's, "at some stage, muslims will take over the West at some stage, without needing to take a shot". Or words to that effect!

It's beginning to happen with the Muslim voting numbers in Australia as we speak.

Remember when you travelled to see countries and their history. Now you see that of the imports rather than that of the country.
