Sorry, cannot help myself. Kinda expected that a simple job that was supposed to have been completed by the "former" Indian engineer (it was passed onto). Further, that the lead authority in Canberra would have done what they said they were going to do (set upgrade)...................

The last part: the DC Yeoman is required to go around the ship (weekly) and check the amount of air in each spare breathing air cylinder. Depending on the platform can be quite a lot of spare cylinders. Due to the design this requires the Yeoman to attach a gauge to each cylinder, open the cylinder valve, confirm that there is more than 270 Bar of air in the cylinder, close the cylinder valve, bleed the air out of the gauge, remove from the cylinder then attach to the next cylinder, repeating the process. This task sees the cylinders (ultimately) needing to be "topped up" on the platforms HP breathing air compressor/s.

The upgrade would have seen a valve with a fitted pressure indicator fitted to the high pressure cylinders, meaning that the Yeoman only had to sight the gauge on the cylinder (to confirm air in cylinder, taking no time at all) and no issue of depleting air in the cylinders by the earlier/current method.

I see that there is a commemoration South Sydney NRL jersey (covering Navy divers). Image on the jersey are three moored mines floating just under the MG sign on the front of the jersey. The comments tended to highlight that MG is Chinese owned and questioned the location of the mines...............
