Amen to that Bob. Attended Dawn Service at Creswell with Ned, Ellen and my missus Polly. Then to the Senior Sailors mess for gunfire breakfast. Tops.
After that the march at Huskison and pleasant afternoon at Club Husky.
Our numbers may be decreasing but the feeling is still there.
Hope all you blokes enjoyed your day.

Because of the damage to my walking from my stroke I didn’t attend the march or dawn service in Melbourne. Sat and watched on TV but my daughter paraded my medals with Sydney association and then marched a second time with the OddBods association to honour my Dad. I just went straight to St Kilda RSL for a couple of quiet drinks and to get the news. According to exWO writer Marty Grogan, BL Brian Swan has crossed the bar. Aged 99 Ex mobi chippy. Hated as a chippy turned MEO. Hated as an MEO. Can’t confirm. Another MOBI gone but won’t be missed. If it is true

:-k Interesting about Swanny, I last saw him two years ago at the bi-annual Nirimba Memorial Service at UWS, seemed O.K. then, but then again, 99 isn't a bad innings... :old1:
He was my boss at :rr: Tarangau, :tomtom: and on reflection, I truly believe that the reason he was always so tough on MOBIs was he didn't want any of us to :faaaarrk: up and thereby
bring the MOBI name into disrepute... :pull hair:
=; The one favour he did for me was to approve my request to pursue a different career path, Chippy to Fleet Air Arm to A4 pilot, :plane: via Upper Yardmans Course,
but that's another story, in short, didn't happen..!! :dontknow:

Swannie was a MOBI from the first intake in 1956 so the maximum age he could be is 85.
Shep and I had a yarn to John Buttle yesterday who was in the forth intake.

Glad you are still getting involved with ANZAC Day, even via a proxy.

At this stage, I have not been able to find any evidence of Brian Lawrence Swan crossing the bar, unless it was in the last couple of days.

No obituaries, no posts on the Epping RSL FB page, no emails from Bob Mummery regarding the MOBI & Naval Officers data bases. There has been a number of "Brian Swan" obituaries from previous years and states, but not our Brian Swan.

I will keep searching in coming days.

Attended the march here in Rockingham and, in the afternoon, participated (very badly) in the Diggers Cup golf comp.

I had every intent in marching in Cairns (Edmonton actually) with my two boys but physical problems brought that up short, unfortunately. I had intended to get some Father/Son/Son photos in the march, but was not to be..

Good to see others are still filling the ranks! :aust:

With all the kerfuffel over Booing at Melbourne Service, what about Uncle Ray so called WTC appearance

Did anyone else notice that he was wearing unearrned Medals on his Left Breast, supposedly his Grandfathers from First World War, Should have been worn on Right Breast

Not one of the Idiots who stood up for him, made any effort to correct his wearing of unearned Valour medals

Would have been easy to just advise him on how to wear them on Right Breast

Do Not beleive in WTC as it was only started by Idiot Ernie Dingo in the 1970's as a joke, and now it is being said by some idiots that it is a Thousands of Year old ceremomy.

Agree about Uncle Ray's medals. Only the ADM should have been on his left side. The MC of the Dawn Service should have addressed the issue before he went onto the rostrum.
