The state of Victoria takes the cake for @#$%.

$1.3 billion paid out to not build a tule. When Dan the dick said it wouldn’t cost a $1.00 to cancel the contract.
Now $380 million ( minimum) to not have the Comm games. When Dan the dick sought to host them before the election. Then found out his idea of having them in Bendigo, Ballarat, Geelong and Gippsland was going to cost shipbins more than having them based in Melbourne.

All done to suck in the regions to vote for his political party.

We are paying $10. Million/ day on the state debt. It can all be sheeted home to him and his corrupt party hacks.
The $380 mil will not be the final figure. There will be payouts to staff that had contracts until the end of the games. There are bound to be claims from businesses that have ordered goods for the games and can’t cancel the orders. Surely they can’t be expected to absorb the costs.

Sadly, like a number of States, lack of a viable alternative maintains the "dumb or dumber" outcome. I am surprised that he has not insisted that all the other states chuck in to pay the bill for the Games. Silly part is that he could have renigged on the regional centres and run the events in and around Melbourne for a greatly reduced cost.

It would appear that the costings for the games were predicated on federal government tipping between $200 and 217 million. But they forgot to ask the Feds.
Also thought that local government would tip in a few million as well. And they were expecting private enterprise to tip a bucket or two as well.

And now tonight Dan the dick is blaming everybody else including consultants and public servants. Everybody else except his own department. Even thought he and his department were warned on several times from multiple sources that it was a bad idea.

To show you how stupid the planning and thought patterns were. Near Geelong, at Waurn Ponds, there were plans to build 2 x 50 Mtr temporary Olympic size pools and a diving pool, at a cost of $155 million. After the games these pools were to be demolished, relocated and the town of Waurn Ponds were going to be left with a diving pool.

The guy is a corrupt fiscal lunatic. It really is a wonder someone hasn’t tried to kill the prick already.

The current Victorian debt as at July 2022 is just under $100 Billion.
