Folks,
In my previous email and correspondence
(?) regarding the
Naval Association of Australia (NSW Section) Annual Service of Thanksgiving on
19 October I indicated that we were hoping guests could use their own vehicles to travel from the
Garden Island Dockyard Main Gate to the
Naval Chapel.I have since been advised by the
HMAS Kuttabul Visit Liaison Team that private vehicles are unable to enter the dockyard, therefore buses will be used to
transport guests from the
Main Gate to the
Chapel and
RAN Heritage Centre, and from the
Heritage Centre to the
Main Gate on completion of morning tea.
Therefore, there is no longer a requirement for guests to provide details of vehicles, drivers and passengers for access to the dockyard. However, parking
is very limited outside the entrance
(in the vicinity of the Pass Office), so I suggest that people who are driving vehicles to and from the service consider
alternative parking in the
Kings Cross / Woolloomooloo area.
Also, can guests please advise if anybody attending the service has limited mobility
(with a need to use a walker or wheelchair)? The chapel has a lift, but
we have also asked for at least one of the buses to have the ability to transport folks who require a wheelchair.
For
Sydney/Country Sub-Section Members - as I requested in earlier correspondence, please contact me if you
(and potentially your partner) wish to attend
the service.
Cheers,Bruce Kafer Secretary / Membership Registrar
