Another thoroughly enjoyable run, both Friday and Saturday . Thanks Dave, for escorting the old fella to the bus stop at Circular Quay to make sure I got on the right bus to Coogee. They don't make young blokes with manners like that any more. Did have to get off at Randwick and disappear down a dark side street and get the next bus. Suggest if the beer prices are that much better than the others, we make the Woolloomooloo Bay Hotel the venue for the next basin trials. At $5 a schooner it was cheaper than middies on Saturday.

pussasan wrote: A great weekend, and report by Rick. Just a smallie amendment to the tagging if you can Rick. Our ring in is actually a serving Commander Jon Ball. I adopted him some years ago on ANZAC day, not a Frisco refugee from Friday. Cheers and beers to everyone, and hope you all got home alright.
Need to discuss next year, I was that lame, I needed a cab from the servo opposite Harrys to make it up the hill to the mariners Saturday night. Gee Col, I don't know where I would have got the idea that it was Jon Ballantyne, wouldn't have been from the tag YOU posted against his pic on Facebook, would it...? Don't you just love pre-emptive text on Facebook and the like...? Never mind, Matey, I've amended my Report as you've suggested anyway...

It wouldn't have gone far but the thought was there. Sorry, PK, but to stretch the $25.00 you generously donated for drinks for the Troops, it was easiest to simply give (only) participating Footy Tipsters $5.00 each and let them buy their own... As our mate Henry didn't participate in the Footy Tipping this year, we had to let him buy his own 'Shirley Temples'...!

CharlieS wrote: First of all....thanks Rick for once again arranging another great Rock's Run... Charlie, the Jägermeisters couldn't have had anything to do with your confused state....a purely medicinal digestif made with 56 herbs and spices....just happens to have 35% alcohol content. Imagine where you would have ended up with a few black sambuccas for a night cap...... I came out from a brief session in the pokies den at the Orient to find you'd all flown the coop.... You guys left far too early as I was going to shout a few night caps....won $1200 on the pokies, so I was feeling generous. Had a very good weekend with the machines, won just under $2000. Of course that was spoiled by having to donate about $900 to do so, but still a worthwhile push of the buttons and I had lots of entertainment (not as much as that provided by you guys during the Run though.... ) Went out Tuesday afternoon to catch up with an old mate, and developed a very bad case of eyestrain. My god, the number of scantily dressed tarts staggering about the streets and hotels with barely constrained bosoms, after a Melbourne Cup outing, was wonderful...... did my blood pressure no good at all. Rhonda and I got the Indian Pacific home on Wednesday, and had a pretty good time. The food was excellent, service was great; even had an entertainer but he didn't rock and roll as much as the train. Tried my level best to drink most of the exorbitant ticket prices, but failed miserably.... It certainly helped get some sleep during the night though... So all in all a great time and looking forward to the next Rock's Run.
