I'm sure things will change by November but I think 'The Lord Nelson' is one of the venues having difficulty finding staff to enable them to put on meals on certain days of the week. Worth checking as we get closer.

Hi guys, The run is still a fair way off, but I am really looking forward to it. As Gordon and Sandy look as if they will be tied up with their relies, Shep, myself and the girls have booked a time share in the city for a week. We have heaps of touristy things planned plus a good look around the old haunts. It has been a long time since we terrorised the old Steak and Kidney, the only downside is we can't stay at Johnnies.

I am still a possible. A lot depends on Covid naturally but there are other issues in play.

I'm hoping you can make it too, Smiley, as are the rest of your fellow Footy Tipsters who reckon the first drinks are on you...!!! BTW... as I'm due for my second A-Z Jab next Wednesday, I thought I'd do the sums for everybody, especially the fence sitters, or reluctant inoculants...How long does it take to have immunity after vaccination? Both the Pfizer and the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines require the full 2 dose course for the best immune response. Whilst partial protection against COVID-19 may be as soon as 12 days after the first dose, this protection is likely to be short lived. The second dose encourages the body to create stronger protection (immunity) against the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19. Individuals may not be fully protected until 7-14 days after their second dose of the Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccine. Because of this, you can still become ill prior to this time and infect others around you, so you should continue COVIDSafe practices. As you may already be aware, the 'medical experts' have decided that the AstraZeneca jabs should be delivered 12 weeks apart, add another two weeks for the second dose to become fully effective, and then working back from the Rocks Pub Crawl, I've calculated that the LATEST date that intending participants could get their FIRST A-Z Dose, (if they haven't already done so,) is Friday, 6th August, with a follow-up final jab on Friday, 29th of October...If for some reason, you were holding off for the Pfizer Jab, the maximum efficacy time is the same (2 weeks) as the AstraZeneca jabs, but you only have to wait THREE weeks for your second jab... This means you'll have had to have your initial jab at the LATEST, FIVE FULL WEEKS before the Pub Crawl, or to save you working it out, by Friday, 8th of October, with the SECOND and final jab on Friday, 29th of October...Now I know if you cast your mind back to your days in 'The Grey Funnel Line' you didn't think twice before lining up in the Sick Bay passage-way, with the Doc on one side, the Sick Berth Tiffy on the other, syringes in both hands, a jab in each arm, and depending on the destination, you may get called back for seconds... It was your right of passage, so to speak...! Well, out of respect for your fellow Rocks Pub Crawlers, most of whom slot just nicely into the 'Danger Zone', age-wise, it goes without saying that we see absolutely no impediment to everybody being FULLY INNOCULATED... Well, that's it... To mis-quote Capt Jack Sparrow... "I sincerely hope everybody was paying attention, because I'm NOT going to go through all that again...!"
