:scran: Viv, I'm assuming that those making that decision this year on your behalf have gone to the trouble of:

a. ascertaining that venue decided upon serves a late breakfast... and...
b. ascertaining that said breakfast menu is suitable and priced for your needs... and...
c. ascertained that said venue offers said service at 10:00AM on a Saturday... and...
d. a booking has been made in our name for around 20 people for Saturday 5th Nov....

...so there's no last minute surprises on the day... :omg1:

I just 'phoned the Ship Inn, and they DO NOT do breakfast anymore. 1000 opening. Any more suggestions??
The Paragon does breakfasts on Saturday but opens at 1000. By the time anyone eats and finishes it'll be almost time for lunch!!!

The OPERA BAR in the Opera House opens at 0900 on Saturdays and does breakfast.
operabar.com.au
Check it out.
Might be OK!!
I have 'phoned them. They ARE open at 0900, and bookings for breakfast can be made through the website. Alcohol is also available at 0900.

The Opera Bar is on the concourse between circular Quay and the Opera House, below street level, along the foreshore.
Can easily handle 20+. very popular for drinks on Thur/Fri after work. Very noisy then.
They do a range of food and are licenced. Not inexpensive and watch out for the seagulls. They are in abundance and will steal food from your plate/table/fork.
Dunno about the times, google perhaps?
Had a snack there several times when going to/from the Opera House.

My advice? Keep looking but keep it as a last resort.

Gordo ...... the time is right. I spoke to the lovely lady. It is open from 0900 on Saturdays and does grog from 0900 as well. Bookings can be made through the Opera Bar website. Have a look at it. I'll have a Croque Monsieur plus a glass of Sparkling thank you!!! :yea:

Even closer... :type: City Extra - Circular Quay Opens 7:00AM Saturdays for Breakfast... Right at the hub for Trains, Ferries, Buses and Taxis... (and about 20 metres from my ferry...!)

Image :scran: Image :partyman:

Located on Circular Quay and offering spectacular views of Sydney Harbour, City Extra is one of city's most exciting eateries, open 24 hours, seven days a week and serving up breakfast, lunch and dinner. Regardless of the time or day, City Extra in The Rocks area is the place to go to dine on classic Australian dishes in a lively setting, attracting crowds of diners morning, noon and night. To score one of the best seats at City Extra, book in advance!

Set over two floors, this sprawling cafe on Circular Quay boasts panoramic views of Sydney Harbour, making it a perfect choice for tourists. Even so, the restaurant is equally beloved by locals with its tasty Australian cuisine available 24/7. No matter what time of day or night it is, if you’re craving some eggs benedict or some pancakes topped with maple syrup, eggs and bacon, get yourself down to City Extra in The Rocks and you’ll find it.

You could also choose to feast on a juicy burger or tuck in to some old favourites like like beer-battered fish and chips, shepherd's pie or some chicken schnitzel when dining at City Extra. The restaurant features a lengthy list of cocktails, perfect for sipping on while sitting on the upper floor and looking out over Sydney Harbour and the Sydney Opera House. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, dinner time or even the middle of the night, this cafe has a buzzing atmosphere. Guarantee a table at City Extra on Circular Quay in Sydney’s The Rocks by making a reservation beforehand.
