Sadly I advise of the passing of Noel Neil. Noel was a highly regarded member of the Jan '62 Entry to Nirimba and trained as an EA but changed over to SA(C). I don't know
how long he served, nor his final rank, but I believe he served on Duchess, at Harman and at Tarangau. His brother is Ken Neil from the term after yours. If you have Ken's
email details, he should be able to fill in the dots.

Noel's wit and dry sense of humour will be sadly missed.

Hi Rick,

Sorry to impose on you but I don't have the current email listing of MOBIs.

Would you be able to post on the MOBIs' website (Skilled Hands) or other media, the death of Reg Neil, 1 Term ahead of us and CSAC.

Reg (Noel) died last weekend from an illness that he has struggled with for years but of all the specialists he has seen in Qld and specifically Brisbane,
not one had been able to diagnose his health problem…..NOT ONE !!

It was as if his immune system was attacking his body.

Anyway, for those that may be interested and who knew Reg, his funeral will be held on Friday 27th January at 10.00am.

It will be held at "White Ladies Funeral Service" in Kelvin Grove, Brisbane,

270 Kelvin Grove Road,
Kelvin Grove.

There will be a private burial later.

Sorry to hear the news about the loss of a fellow MOBI.

I might be wrong, but the medical problem that Neil may have had, might have been scleroderma. It is an incurable disease where the immune system attacks one or all of the organs of the body.

Very few medicos are aware of the disease and the symptoms can be attributed to other problems.

I am aware of scleroderma as my wife is suffering from it. She has it in her lungs and all the previous GPs/Specialists were treating her for other problems, without success.

It wasn't until we found a Specialist who had dealt with scleroderma. From what we have found out, very few Doctor now much about it, as it is quite rare.
