Picked up from Facebook...  It is with deep regret and sadness I advise the passing of ex CPO MTH Trevor Colin (Joe) SARD, a Shipmate, and close Brother-in-Law who married my wife Valerie's younger sister Margaret in 1964, the same year as Val and I... Val and I will travel to South Australia. to support Margaret and family at his Service in the Port Pirie RSL Club on Tuesday 14 April (?) which will be live streamed.... RIP Frank SyaranamualHippy Chippy's Footnote: I remember Joe (from my first posting to sea on HMAS Melbourne) as a friendly, approachable, funny,  stirer... He will be missed... VALE: Rest on your adze, Joe, your journey's done... R.I.P.   BTW, look out for Prince  Philip, he's on his way too...

Another Chippy that I cannot recall serving time with at any stage of my career. Garry Fradd, fellow Chippy-on-the-spot in Port Pirie with a long and strong association with the Port Pirie RSL has confirmed that Joe's service is on Tuesday 13th, at 1330, and in due course, through his contact at the Funeral Director's, may also be able to supply the live-streaming details for those interested in watching the service... Thanks Fraddy...

For those who may wish to live-stream Joe's Funeral Service, I received the following from Joe's brother-in-law, Frank Syaranamual a short time ago... "Hi Rick, Sorry about the delay... Join this Facebook group  NAF Live Stream – Sard, Joe It will start on the face book page at 1330 on Tuesday, 13th, and will be available for replay after the service..." Thanks Fraddy... You've done well Rick...the two funeral directors that I chased up this morning didn't bear any fruit.  I'll take a photo of Joes photo tomorrow and upload it.

Thanks for your efforts Fraddy... I followed Frank's instructions (as in my earlier post  above,) and just got a reply back saying my "application to join the live-stream has been accepted..." A young Joe Sard as I remember him...  R.I.P.
