Enjoy the trip Connie, haven't done the Indian Pacific but did the Ghan. Very enjoyable, and no doubt you will enjoy the Margaret River experience. If you haven't been to the Anzac Memorial in Albany it is well worth the time, a great experience. Also if you are driving a stop off in Balingup (the medieval centre) is worth a visit, particularly in the festival is on, but I think you might be a bit early for that. What ever, you do just enjoy yourself.

Ditto what Pony said Connie. You should have a whale (pun intended) of a time.

Requesting a day's Compassionate Leave... At sparrow's tomorrow morning, I'll be collecting fellow 13th MOBI Intake (albeit, a 'Greenie',) Pete 'Red' Williamson and his lovely wife Helen, and then driving about 5 hours north, to Woolgoolga, to hopefully provide some comfort to fellow 13th MOBI Intake Chippy, Barrie Robinson, as we get together for a day of Celebration of Life for his lovely wife Dagmar, who sadly, Barrie lost, following a long illness last week... R.I.P. now Daggie, your journey's done...

I'm back, what a trip. All was good until WA and SA closed their borders. This meant our trip back on the Indian Pacific was changed from last Sunday a until next Sunday and we would have only been able to get to Adelaide and fly home from there.
We booked an extra weeks accommodation in Perth, then that all went to shit because of the restrictions put in place in Perth. Lea booked a flight back to Canberra , and we flew home yesterday.
We now have credits for the Indian Pacific again. Maybe we will just fly over again for a few days next year just to get the train back. Oh, and the whale watching in Albany got cancelled because of an exhaust leak on the boat.

That was a bit disappointing Connie! Hope you got to see the Anzac Memorial at Albany and managed to enjoy some Margaret River wines.

Yep, enjoyed the wines and sent two boxes home, which arrived yesterday. Went to the ANZAC Centre while in Albany. We left Albany on the Sunday morning, and they had a huge storm that night, and the ANZAC Centre had part of its roof lifted.

Got a good view of about 15 whales coming up the east coast off Cape St George just south of JB the other day.

Incoming green grenade guys. Off for a week or so wildflower and wild orchid hunting in the south easterly wheat belt region. Be kind to each other.
