To all the MOBIs and others who may have known the “Swede”. Another fine man gone.
I remember the “Swede” very well, and some of the antics that he got up to as an Apprentice. He, Red Berry and a couple of others were Larrikins in their own in own way and revered by many!!

John Hinrichsen’s family have asked for the information below, to be passed on to you. And if you would be so kind as to distribute it through your network please.
John who has been I’ll for sometime, following lung surgery (twice), was readmitted to his District Hospital last Saturday, with the expectation of being transferred to a major hospital this week for palliative care.
Unfortunately John died last night (Sunday 16th) peacefully about 10pm.
Enclosing information re John’s death as given to the local papers.
Ps. John Hinrichsen and John Ridgeway (as mentioned in a recent email from you) both joined HMAS Nirimba in January 1959.

John was an ERA and his Vietnam service included:
3 x Trips in HMAS Melbourne in 1966 & 68.
I never had the pleasure of knowing John, but still sad to hear of the loss of another Tiffy MOBI. Condolences to John's family and friends. - BC
