With State of Origin #3 just over the horizon, and those pesky :hi1: Morons...
:oopssign: er... Maroons
likely to notch up another win, I thought it might be timely to revisit
two of my truly favourite Queenslanders we've not seen in ages, :frog 19: Daz 'n' Baz... :frog 19:

:-k Hard to believe its 30 years since Riverdance :kick:
introduced us to rich traditional Irish :irish: culture when they burst
on the scene as interval entertainment :omg1: during Eurovision, 30/04/94...!

:type: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zy79KKpQ988 :blues:

(Psssstt...! :hi: The actual dancing bit :laughing3: starts at the 1:50 min mark...)

[-( So sad that with 60,000 years of culture behind them, our swarthy :rr:
brothers
could only muster a corroboree, :tomtom: otherwise NAIDOC Week might
provide something of interest to entertain the other 97% of Australia..! :aust:

Seems the 60,000 year history has been disproved recently, so it's back to the 40,000 year waffle. That said, the inventions of a bent stick for use to bring down various birds, animals, and people you don't like can't be discounted. The fact that it can't be used amongst trees, bushes, lumpy or hilly ground, near the water, over the water, or in windy conditions does knock it's effectiveness down quite a bit. Plus when you throw it everybody needs to watch where the stick goes/returns or it may reduce your companions with an unintended strike..............

I had to do a lecture back in the 70's about boomerangs. When I was researching for that lecture, I found that boomerangs were used around most of the Pacific, including Asia, North & South America.

And just recently, one was found in northern Europe, Poland I think.

They marketed them that far away?

I attended a number of Didgeridoo classes whilst on a cruise some years ago. A couple of contradictory points were offered. Women can play the instrument, it is only certain "male only" events where it is not allowed. The Didge was made from particular trees in NT (well where NT is) and it has only moved across Australia in (relatively) more recent times.
