With no Leave Request submitted in advance, our Members will be forgiven for thinking that one of your fearless Webmasters had simply gone A.W.O.L.... ....................................................................... ...'til a few telling photos began to surface... This first pic might be a bit of a giveaway, shows Chippy Ned and his better half Ellen getting stuck into something chilled and sugar/ salt encrusted, but it ....................................................................... was definitely not taken in their loungeroom at home... Facebook posts revealed they're in fact getting stuck into a few pre-sailing cocktails in one of the many lounge bars aboard the Royal Princess... In fact the pair are but two of a party of sixteen in all, made up of 13th MOBI Intake Artificers and their respective wives, girlfriends and two of our much loved widows... Of course, getting them all together for a group photo op prior to departure is worse than herding cats, the photo above at least captured half of them... L-R: Paulette Dunlop (widow of Bob 'Kip' Dunlop,) sharing with Denise Cocks, (widow of Chippy Bruce Cocks,) behind her in the hat, Pete Williamson, then Helen Williamson, Les and Karen Handicott, Terry and Lorraine Gunton... (Not present, Shang and Marlene Moffitt, Tim Baker and Brig, Bruce and Chris Chalmers, Ned and Ellen Kelly...)I'd actually travelled down from the NSW Central Coast by train with Denice Cocks, and Bruce and Chris Chalmers with a view to catching up with a couple of '13th Intakers' I'd not seen in a long while before they sailed, but unfortunately, they'd already boarded the ship by the time we arrived at Circular Quay and proved to be uncontactable..! As nobody was going to come ashore once embarked, there was no point in hanging around, so this pic was taken from the ferry I caught en route to Barangaroo and home...

Are tours of machinery spaces part of the cruise itinerary? Will there be at least one "man overboard" exercise? Are they required to chip and paint their area of ship?
