I'm fairly sure we've featured this memory jogger on RANATE from the 'early' days before, but worthy of another look... HMAS NIRIMBA A Mobi Remembers by Peter Colthorpe

Great memories just came flooding back. I turn 80 in 6 and a half weeks and I agree, I would do it all over again.

Totally agree Ned, there were good and bad times, and I learned from both. And yes, I'd do it all again!

Smiley! We are all a lot closer now than we were in the shown in Peter Colthorpe's clip. I'm with Brian, I would do it all again but not under the current terms, conditions and regulations.

Well I would certanley do it all again if I had the chance
Many Mates still keep in contact with from back then
Getting closer by the year to that 80, but still some way to go
But they would need to smarten up there approach to life on the Big ships and maybe bring back what we had then
Need to Bring back the Apprentice scheme post haste
The country is F..ked without them

I think is it therefore a better navy than our times? - the answer is a resounding No!
