Another one of the good guys has slipped the wharf for the last time. Owen Waywood passed away last night at 11:40 (Perth time), after a long battle with cancer. Ollie was in the July 1966 intake. I believe that any service/funeral will be private. Condolences to Christine and daughter Laura, and to his brother Kelly (exCPOMTP).

I joined up with Ollie, we were in the same class of ETS apprentices and we shared a 4-man cabin for a couple of years.

I remember him as a quiet achiever and an absolute whiz at knowing every aircraft type that flew overhead; I'm surprised he did not become a birdie.

It's sad to hear of his far too early passing and I have passed this on to as many of his intake as I have email addresses for.
